Crestview extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 5-9. They had to suffer through an 81-50 loss at the hands of the Newton Falls Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 79-42 back in December of 2025.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Gaydos, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 13 points and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Gaydos now owns an excellent 48.1% shooting accuracy. Eli Cope was another key player, putting up 12 points.
As for Newton Falls, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points over those games.
It was another big night for Phil Davis, who shot 73% from the field on his way to 28 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chace Clonch, who posted ten points in addition to seven assists and four steals.
