The Weddington Warriors will be playing at home against the Butler Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Weddington put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 72-43 win over Thomas Jefferson. Considering Weddington has won three matchups by more than 21 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Weddington's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kj Younger, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds, and Grant Hamilton, who scored 23 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Hamilton has scored at least 25% of Weddington's points. Quinn Vaughn was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Meanwhile, Butler fought the good fight in their overtime game against Powdersville on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (56), Butler still had to take the loss.
Weddington pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Butler, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
