The Ignacio Bobcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 46-20 margin over Sargent. That looming 46-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Ignacio yet this season.
Sargent lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kandace Pargin, who scored five points along with three steals. Pargin hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Asbell, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Sargent struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Ignacio is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Sargent, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
Ignacio and Monte Vista will face off at 1:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Monte Vista's defense has only allowed 28.2 points per game this season, so Ignacio's offense will have their work cut out for Ignacio. After both having extra time off, Sargent and Centennial will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
