Palmetto Christian Academy won the last time they faced the Pee Dee Academy Eagles, and things went their way on Saturday too. Palmetto Christian Academy snuck past Pee Dee Academy with a 50-46 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Palmetto Christian Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Pee Dee Academy is ranked 105th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palmetto Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Clay Chakeris, who scored eight points along with five assists and two steals. That's the first time this season that Chakeris grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Peyton Shaw, who scored 12 points.
Palmetto Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Pee Dee Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmetto Christian Academy will take on Pinewood Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pee Dee Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Florence Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
