Somerset Academy - Canyons is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Forest Hill 17-3 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Ryleigh Singer and Riley Rosenberg were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Singer pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. In other batting news, Ava Midgett was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Brianna Ayala also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
West Boca Raton hadn't beaten Boca Raton on the road since March 8, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Bulls walked away with a 9-5 win over the Bobcats.
Like Somerset Academy - Canyons, West Boca Raton also got a great game from a two-way player: Megan Brockmann. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Brockmann was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, West Boca Raton let Erin Broadley and Madison Luft run wild. Broadley scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Luft scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Gabriela Thigpen, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
