After a string of three wins, the Sidney Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Fergus on the road by a decisive 46-27 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sidney has scored all season.
Fergus got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trajan Sparks out in front who scored eight points along with four steals and two blocks. Sparks has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Wylee Snapp, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Sidney's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-7. As for Fergus, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.
Sidney won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lockwood on January 27th. Lockwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sidney in Montana (Lockwood is ranked tenth, while Sidney is ranked 66th). As for Fergus, they will head out on the road to square off against Custer County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
