The Deerfield Spartans lost against the Yarbrough Lobos back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Deerfield was beaten by the Lobos 75-46.
Despite the defeat, Deerfield saw an underclassman step up: Colten Musil scored 22 points along with three steals. Musil hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Michael Lira was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Deerfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Yarbrough, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-0.
Deerfield will challenge the Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pawnee Heights has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Yarbrough does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
