The Waukesha West Wolverines will venture away from home to challenge the Catholic Memorial Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Catholic Memorial took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Waukesha West, who comes in off a win.
Waukesha West not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 21, 2024 (when they won 11-1). They blew past Westosha Central 10-4. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Max Mullane was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Mullane was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season.
In other batting news, Bradyn Kundinger was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those runs were his first of the season. Dylan Schreiber was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Waukesha North hit Catholic Memorial with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Crusaders fell just short of the Northstars by a score of 5-3. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jesse Sobczak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Traeger, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Catholic Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Waukesha West, their record is now 5-7.
Waukesha West came out on top in a nail-biter against Catholic Memorial in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
