Not much got past Madi Whitley, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep South Stanly off the board. With that strong performance, Whitley is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, West Stanly let Saylor Edwards and Laney Tucker run wild. Edwards scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Tucker scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Edwards a new career-high in hits.

Addison Trego was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Trego was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addi Myers, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Dilynn Norris was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one run.
South Iredell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
South Iredell's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4. As for West Stanly, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Stanly has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .549. However, it's not like South Iredell struggles in that department as they've averaged .461. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
