2A-1 Region I District 4 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Eastland moved up to 352 from 396 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A-1 Region I District 4. The Mavericks climbed the ranks as a result of a 46-20 win over Breckenridge.
Merkel took down Clyde 41-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Bulldogs' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Clint Lesley threw for 208 and one touchdown and Mason Latham had 58 yards receiving. On the ground Ty Spears chipped in 49 yards. Mason Burson helped Clyde's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 54 yards.
Clyde's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Lesley has thrown for 1102 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Jon Seabourn has 32 catches for 519 yards. Spears leads the league in rushing with 430 yards.
Eastland led the league in scoring this week after putting up 46 points on the Buckaroos.
