Basketball Recap: Lipscomb Academy Beats Bartlett for Their Third Straight Victory

Lipscomb Academy entered their tilt with Bartlett on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 46-40 W against the Panthers. Those 46 points were actually the fewest the Mustangs have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Bartlett's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Anniya Bailey, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds, and Amare Boothe, who posted nine points and six boards. Bailey continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylin Sheffield, who scored nine points and six boards.

Lipscomb Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Bartlett, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Lipscomb Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-43 defeat against Blackman on the 31st. As for Bartlett, they have also already played their next game, a 48-45 loss against Nolensville on the 31st.
