The Pewaukee Pirates will head out to take on the Waukesha West Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pewaukee comes in on four and Waukesha West on five.
Pewaukee took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Brookfield Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lancers 8-6. Eight seems to be a good number for the Pirates as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

04/21/25 @ New Berlin West | 7 |
Hailey Hutchens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Harper Gould was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Mya Bloedow was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Waukesha West made easy work of New Berlin West on Friday and carried off an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Waukesha West also let their pitcher toss all six innings played and she was also dialed-in: Anna Dornbach gave up a run (which was unearned) on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Paige Kahle and Payton Hisel did most of the damage at the plate: Kahle went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Hisel went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Amelia Carlson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
Waukesha West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Waukesha West's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Pewaukee, their record is now 12-6.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pewaukee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Waukesha West struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pewaukee might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Waukesha West in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
