The Miyamura Patriots scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 60-36 margin over Shiprock. The victory was some much needed relief for Miyamura as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Kaytoinette Ross had a dynamite game for Miyamura, scoring 23 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ross has scored at least a third of Miyamura's points. Another player making a difference was Autumn Dennison, who scored nine points.
Miyamura's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14. As for Shiprock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.
Miyamura will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Aztec is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Shiprock, they will head out on the road to take on the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bloomfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
