Basketball Game Preview: McDonough Warhawks vs. Stockbridge Tigers

McDonough has gone 9-1 against Stockbridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The McDonough Warhawks will square off against the Stockbridge Tigers at 7:30 p.m. McDonough knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Stockbridge likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, McDonough strolled past Eagle's Landing with points to spare, taking the game 79-65.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McDonough to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zaiden Greene, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 21 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Greene is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zion Greene, who went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points in addition to eight assists and six boards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stockbridge). They managed a 76-72 win over Woodland on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their 12-game losing streak.

McDonough is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Stockbridge, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-14.

Everything came up roses for McDonough against Stockbridge in their previous matchup on January 7th, as the squad secured a 70-39 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for McDonough since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
