McQueen is 0-10 against the Cougars since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The McQueen Lancers will look to defend their home court against the Spanish Springs Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: McQueen has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while the Cougars will arrive with four straight victories.
On Friday, McQueen was the victim of a rough 79-53 defeat at the hands of the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, McQueen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Mustangs are ranked seventh).
Meanwhile, Spanish Springs didn't have too much trouble with the Tigers at home on Friday as they won 56-38.
Spanish Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josiah McBride led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McBride has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Washington, who scored eight points along with five steals.
McQueen has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Spanish Springs, they pushed their record up to 12-11 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
McQueen came up short against the Cougars in their previous meeting back in January, falling 61-55. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Spanish Springs' Travis Lee, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
