Cleveland Central Catholic was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in North Coast - White. The Ironmen defeated Trinity 26-19 earlier in the week.
The Trojans' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matt Iacobucci threw for 85 and one touchdown and Royce Sawyer had 49 yards receiving. On the ground Brett Dawson chipped in 49 yards. Dawson helped Trinity's passing attack out by catching one ball for 19 yards.
Trinity's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pat Sobolewski has thrown for 480 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Griffin Filippi has 13 catches for 186 yards. Sawyer leads the league in rushing with 302 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when St. Peter Chanel takes on Cleveland Central Catholic. As it stands, the Firebirds are in fourth, while John Lundy's team is in second.
John F. Kennedy led North Coast - White in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Villa Angela-St. Joseph.
