Baker is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Northview is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Gators will host the Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Baker is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Baker's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Pine Forest. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Joel Morse made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Baker's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Justice Baldwin was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Straight, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs.
Baker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Northview suffered their biggest loss since February 13, 2025 on Thursday. They came up short against West Florida, falling 7-1.
Bryant Mason was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.
Baker's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Northview, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Baker has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Northview struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Baker couldn't quite finish off Northview in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 and fell 4-2. Will the Gators have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
