Baseball Recap: Newton South Has No Trouble Against Maimonides

Newton South was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Maimonides on Sunday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the M-Cats. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Newton South has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Maimonides, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Newton South does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Maimonides, they will head out on the road to take on Nashoba Valley Tech at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The M-Cats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
