The Sharyland Rattlers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They suffered a tough 49-29 defeat at the hands of Pioneer. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sharyland has scored all season.
Pioneer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julian Valdez, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Edward Chavez, who scored eight points along with 16 rebounds.
Sharyland has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for Pioneer, their win bumped their record up to 19-13.
Sharyland will be playing at home against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial is coming into the game with five straight defeats on the road, meaning Sharyland will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Pioneer, they will square off against Valley View at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pioneer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
