The Charleston Math & Science Riptide had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They skirted past Riverpointe Christian Academy 43-40.
Charleston Math & Science's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zion King, who scored nine points. King hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Tyler Simmons, who scored nine points.
Terry Truesdale Jr and Kevin Dukes Jr certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Truesdale Jr scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Dukes Jr scored 12 points. The game was Dukes Jr's seventh in a row with at least ten points.
Charleston Math & Science's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Riverpointe Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Charleston Math & Science won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Riverpointe Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwood Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwood Academy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
