Geneseo had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-14 victory over the Rochelle Hubs on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Maple Leafs as they're now sitting on six straight.
Kye Weinzierl was his usual excellent self, rushing for 63 yards and one score, while also picking up 62 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Despite the loss, Rochelle still got an impressive performance from Roman Villalobos, who rushed for 133 yards and one TD.
Geneseo's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Rochelle, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4.
Geneseo has already played their next game, a 29-0 win against Macomb on the 8th. Rochelle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
