It was a good run, but the Bingham Miners unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Skyridge by a score of 48-45. The matchup was a 23-23 toss-up at halftime, but Bingham was just barely outscored by Skyridge in the second.
Several Miners players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brianna Badonie, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds. Badonie scored a full 35.6% of Bingham's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Stacia Peoples was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 9 rebounds.
Skyridge found their leader in underclassman Ellah Oeser, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shae Toole, who scored 8 points along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds.
Bingham's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Skyridge, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bingham will take on Layton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Layton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Skyridge, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Copper Hills at 7:00 p.m.
