Reagan has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Goleman Gators at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Reagan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Reagan, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 41-22 loss to Edison.
Goleman has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 25 points or more this season. They blew past South Miami 69-3 at home. That 69-3 margin sets a new team best for Goleman this season.
Goleman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jasmin Brown out in front who scored 18 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least 25% of Goleman's points. Akayla Edwards was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.
Reagan's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Goleman, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Reagan strolled past Goleman when the teams last played back in January by a score of 44-29. Does Reagan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Goleman turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
