The Dwyer Panthers will face off against the Jupiter Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
It was a proper cat-fight when Dwyer challenged Winter Park on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 4-3. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.
Logan Reed was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Sully Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Rocco Bianco was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Jupiter ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past St. Thomas Aquinas 5-4. The Warriors' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Ethan Trivison looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Brett Hobbs was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Having lost for the first time this season, Dwyer fell to 2-1. As for Jupiter, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dwyer hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. However, it's not like Jupiter struggles in that department as they've averaged .347. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dwyer might still be hurting after the 14-4 defeat they got from Jupiter in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
