The Permian Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. The game between Permian and Franklin wasn't particularly close, with Permian falling 59-44. Permian has struggled against Franklin recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Caitlynn Clark was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 15 steals for Franklin. Clark hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Balsiger, who scored 16 points.
The last time Permian won on the road was back on Tuesday. Having now lost four straight away contests, they've bumped their record down to 2-5. As for Franklin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Permian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to face off against Harmony Science Academy at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Harmony Science Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1394th, while Franklin is ranked 126th).
