After a string of three wins, the Mountain View Mountain Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were dealt a 87-52 loss at the hands of Riverdale Ridge. Mountain View has struggled against Riverdale Ridge recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Mountain View still got an impressive performance from Dylan Garland, who scored 24 points. Garland scored a full 46.2% of Mountain View's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tyson Mares-Benz was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Riverdale Ridge, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Mountain View will square off against Niwot at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Niwot has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2. As for Riverdale Ridge, they will be playing at home against Fort Morgan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Morgan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 328th, while Riverdale Ridge is ranked 26th).
