Baseball Recap: Conestoga's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

Conestoga dropped their record down to 7-7 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Haverford Fords by a score of 2-0. Considering the last time the Pioneers couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Haverford, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games.

For Haverford's part, not much got past Jimmy Boyle, who gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks to keep Conestoga off the board. Boyle has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Conestoga and Haverford should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Pioneers will face off against Valley Forge Military Academy at 3:45 p.m. on the 15th with a big rank advantage (221 vs. 652). Meanwhile, Haverford (ranked 14th) will meet Ridley (ranked 359th) at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
