Rob Chesson ran for 306 yards and seven touchdowns as Old Mill (Millersville, Md.) defeated Catonsville (Baltimore, Md.), 49-20, during Friday's Class 4A state semifinals.
The big night enabled him to set a single-season state record with 49 touchdowns. The previous record of 43 had stood since 2007. He also has rushed for 2,528 yards this year.
The Patriots raised their record to 13-0 and they will play Quince Orchard (Gaithersburg, Md.) for the Class 4A state title on Friday night at M&T Bank Stadium.
Previously unbeaten Catonsville finished its best season in history with a 12-1 record.
