Given Wabash's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Northfield is ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wabash to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izaak Wright, who scored 12 points along with three blocks. The matchup was Wright's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Kaden Vogel was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Northfield's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Baer, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Baer set a new season high mark in steals with two. Another player making a difference was Tyson Baer, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Wabash's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Northfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Wabash won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Manchester at 8:00 p.m. on December 30th. As for Northfield, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lewis Cass at 7:45 p.m. Lewis Cass is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
