Baldwin is a perfect 10-0 against King Kekaulike since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Bears will challenge the Na Ali'i at 10:00 a.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Baldwin comes in on ten and King Kekaulike on three.
Baldwin is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Hawaii's top teams: Maui, who was ranked 21st at the time (Baldwin was ranked fourth). The Bears blew past the Sabers 17-2 on Wednesday. Considering the Bears have won eight matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Shaileah Brown (Shai) made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Briana Maio-Silva (Ana), who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Kalia DeMello (Kalia) was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Baldwin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .643. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, while King Kekaulike put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Kamehameha Maui. The Na Ali'i were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Warriors. The Na Ali'i might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.
Like Baldwin, King Kekaulike also got a great game from a two-way player: Hulali Williams. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Williams was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Chiyo Salas was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Kaleimaile Garcia also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Baldwin's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for King Kekaulike, their record now sits at 8-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Baldwin has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like King Kekaulike struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Baldwin took their win against King Kekaulike when the teams last played on April 2nd by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
