Oceanside is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Medomak Valley is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Oceanside Mariners will take on the Medomak Valley Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Oceanside faced York in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Everything went Oceanside's way against York as Oceanside made off with a 60-40 victory. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Cohen Galley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 122 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 386 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 16.1 yards per attempt. Zeb Foster was another key contributor, picking up 179 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Medomak Valley got themselves on the board against Belfast on Saturday, but Belfast never followed suit. They blew past the Lions, posting a 36-0 win at home.
Their wins bumped Oceanside to 7-0 and Medomak Valley to 7-1.
Oceanside couldn't quite finish off Medomak Valley in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 and fell 35-32. Will Oceanside have more luck at home instead of on the road?
