DuVal and Wise are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Tigers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Pumas at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Last Monday, DuVal made easy work of Suitland and carried off a 23-10 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Jeremias Velez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off three hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, DuVal let Adolfo Carino and Wilkins Belen run wild. Carino got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI, while Belen went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave Carino a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ramon Ceballos, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
DuVal was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .412 that Suitland posted.
Meanwhile, Wise never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Suitland.
Daron Williams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Williams was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other batting news, Wise got a massive performance out of Christian Moore, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those hits were Moore's first of the season. Anthony Dapaah was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
DuVal now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wise, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-3.
Everything went DuVal's way against Wise when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as DuVal made off with a 12-2 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pumas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
