The Lake Brantley Patriots's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They blew past Centennial 36-14. Lake Brantley's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last five games.
Parker Perales was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 117 yards and a touchdown on only ten passes. Alexander Catano also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Centennial to a paltry 187 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Lake Brantley's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out 4.5 times before it was all said and done. Aidan Haecker was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Lake Brantley's win bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Centennial, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Lake Brantley will take on Winter Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winter Park is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to face off against Port St. Lucie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Port St. Lucie has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 24.
