On Tuesday, SEED DC faced the Friendship Collegiate Academy Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. SEED DC received a tough blow as they fell 74-60 to the Knights. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (57), SEED DC still had to take the loss.
Friendship Collegiate Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kahmya Dixon, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Dixon pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonae McKnight, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists.
SEED DC's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-4. As for Friendship Collegiate Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. SEED DC will square off against the Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Friendship Tech Prep Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Friendship Collegiate Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on January 31st.
