The Triton Central Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Eastern Musketeers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Triton Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
Last Friday, Triton Central's game was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 28-17 victory over Brownstown Central.
Jace Stuckey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 202 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Eastern never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed by Switzerland County at home to the tune of 44-0. The result was nothing new for Eastern, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Eastern got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Jones out in front who rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Jones was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards. Nathan Mcbride was in the mix as well, providing Eastern with two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Eastern's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Switzerland County's QB won't forget Caleb King anytime soon given King sacked him four times.
Triton Central's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.0 points per game. As for Eastern, their win ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6.
Everything came up roses for Triton Central against Eastern in their previous matchup back in October of 2021 as the squad secured a 58-0 win. Will Triton Central repeat their success, or does Eastern have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
