Riverside is a perfect 10-0 against Mayfield since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Beavers will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riverside has three straight wins, Mayfield has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Riverside let Gilmour Academy stack ten runs on them in the first inning on Tuesday but luckily Riverside prevailed anyway. The Beavers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-13 victory over the Lancers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Beavers have posted since March 23rd.
Maddy Kevern made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Kevern was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 12 games.

In other batting news, Becca Tornow was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Wilhelm, who went 2-for-5 with five RBI and two runs.
Meanwhile, Mayfield didn't have quite enough to beat North on Tuesday and fell 4-2.
Riley Seitz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits.
At the plate, Lilly Pinzone was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Ella Mikesell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Mayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Riverside, their record now sits at 18-3.
Riverside was able to grind out a solid victory over Mayfield in their previous meeting on Monday, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
