Point Loma has gone 8-2 against Patrick Henry recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Pointers will host the Patriots at 6:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Point Loma comes in on three and Patrick Henry on eight.
Point Loma proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lincoln 3-2.
Point Loma wouldn't go down easily and took Lincoln into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 24-25, 15-10.

Point Loma found their leader in sophomore Olivia Karvelis, who had 19 digs and three aces. Karvelis is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last eight games she's played. Genesie Devers also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Point Loma was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They are 6-2 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Patrick Henry made easy work of Mission Bay on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.
While Patrick Henry won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 28-26, 25-17.
Patrick Henry found their leader in sophomore Natalie Rynard, who had 44 assists and four digs.
Patrick Henry's win bumped their record up to 20-11. As for Point Loma, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Point Loma has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Patrick Henry struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
