Softball Recap: Northside Christian Has No Trouble Against Zephyrhills Christian Academy

Northside Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Zephyrhills Christian Academy on Friday. Northside Christian was the clear victor by a 22-12 margin over Zephyrhills Christian Academy. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-4 back in February.

Hanley Medina made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Medina is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Northside Christian got a massive performance out of Gabriela Fisher, who scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Fisher a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Macy SMith, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Northside Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Northside Christian's record now sits at 7-4. As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Coming up, Northside Christian will head out to face off against Lakeside Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeside Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Northside Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, they will host Grace Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
