The Hylton Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Freedom 77-44. While losing is never fun, Hylton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while Freedom is ranked 96th).
Hylton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Farmer Shaun, who scored 12 points. Drew Wright was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Hylton dropped their record down to 4-12 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Freedom, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Hylton will look to defend their home court on Friday against Potomac Senior at 7:00 p.m. As for Freedom, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
