After a string of three wins, the Palm Bay Pirates's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy. Palm Bay has not had much luck with Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Palm Bay still got an impressive performance from Elijah Buffong, who scored ten points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Mcgee, who scored 12 points.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wyatt Chanda, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 21 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chanda has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Martay Barnes, who scored 18 points.
Palm Bay's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-4. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Palm Bay will square off against Bayside at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bayside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 593rd, while Palm Bay is ranked 77th). As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Florida Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
