Glenns Ferry has gone a perfect 5-0 against Garden Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pilots will head out to take on the Wolverines at 2:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Glenns Ferry has three straight victories, Garden Valley has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Glenns Ferry was able to grind out a solid win over Lighthouse Christian, taking the game 6-2.

Alan Mesillas made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last seven matchups. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with seven stolen bases and three runs. He has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last six times he's played.
In other batting news, Junior Sanchez was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 11 games. Another player making a difference was Payton Reynolds, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Idaho City hit Garden Valley with a four-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolverines took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.
Jayce Rogers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and one RBI.
The victory got Glenns Ferry back to even at 10-10-1. As for Garden Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Glenns Ferry has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like Garden Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .498. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
