The Saint Andrew's Scots entered their tilt with the Pine Crest Panthers with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Saint Andrew's claimed a resounding 35-0 victory over Pine Crest on the road. Saint Andrew's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Among those leading the charge was Dylan Mayers, who threw for 180 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Saint Andrew's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ethan Friesel.
Saint Andrew's victory was their fourth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 9-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 St. John Paul II Academy and 2-8 Pine Crest (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32.5% over those games). As for Pine Crest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
Saint Andrew's will look to defend their home field on Friday against Calvary Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. Calvary Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Pine Crest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
