Make it four blowout wins for the Eaton Reds this season. They took their game at home on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 67-31 win over Valley. Given Eaton's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Valley is ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eaton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mitch Haythorn out in front who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Peyton Walker was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aidan Brownell. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. Brownell hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games.
Eaton's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Valley, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Coincidentally, Eaton and Valley will both be playing Weld Central the next time they take the court. Valley will host Weld Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Eaton will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
