Calhoun's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the King Brahmas by a score of 6-1. That's more bragging rights for the Sandcrabs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Trenton Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tucker Amerson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Angel Morales also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Calhoun hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King struck out ten times.

Calhoun is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. King is on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Calhoun wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-1 victory against Santa Gertrudis Academy on the 22nd. As for King, they have also already played their next game, a 13-4 loss against Zapata on the 25th.
