The Brookesmith Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Moran 39-19. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 25-3.
Maekayla Kersey and Kielar Carr certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Kersey scored eight points, while Carr scored eight points. Carr scored a full 42.1% of Moran's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Brookesmith's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Moran, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookesmith will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Blackwell at 6:15 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for Moran, they will head out on the road to face off against Panther Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Panther Creek comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
