Adding to the longest winning streak in Desert Valley this week, Cathedral City beat Twentynine Palms 46-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
La Quinta moved up to 165 from 280 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Blackhawks climbed the ranks as a result of topping Eisenhower 24-21.
On the heels of Kyle Kabeary and Trae Riek, Palm Desert has had great success on offense. Kabeary leads the league in passing with 792 yards, while Riek has rushed for 624 yards this season. La Quinta's Vincent Guzman leads the league in receiving yards with 234 on 8 catches.
The Aztecs' offense has scored 143 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Cathedral City has allowed only 47 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Palm Desert takes on Richard Lee's team. Patrick Blackburn's team is in fifth place, while the Lions are in first place.
Danny Armstrong's team and the Eagles played the closest game in Desert Valley this week, with Danny Armstrong's team eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory.
