The Trinity Prep Saints had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took down Cornerstone Charter Academy 55-40. For Trinity Prep, this counts as revenge for the 47-24 loss Cornerstone Charter Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2018.
It was another big night for Amanda Lang, who scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Samantha Male, who scored nine points.
Despite the loss, Cornerstone Charter Academy saw an underclassman step up: Aalisha Jackson scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Grace Jervis was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Trinity Prep's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Trinity Prep won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Celebration at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Celebration is ranked 427th, while Trinity Prep is ranked 450th). As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Osceola at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Osceola comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
