Baseball Game Preview: Bishop England Battling Bishops vs. May River Sharks

For the second straight game, Bishop England will face off against May River. Bishop England is taking a road trip to challenge May River at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop England knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully May River likes a good challenge.

Bishop England barely beat May River the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Bishop England put the hurt on May River with a sharp 12-6 victory on Monday. Bishop England's win was all the more impressive since the Sharks were averaging only four runs allowed on the season.

WILL RISSMILLER made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. RISSMILLER was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, JACKSON WINER was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Logan Sheninger also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for May River, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
