The Polytechnic Parrots had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past South Hills 37-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Polytechnic has posted since November 16, 2023.
Polytechnic can attribute much of their success to Sofia Castro, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Castro continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Tyra Ray was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Polytechnic's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for South Hills, they bumped their record down to 3-26 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Polytechnic will take on Everman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Everman presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Polytechnic in Texas (Everman is ranked 601st, while Polytechnic is ranked 1475th). As for South Hills, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Trimble Tech at 7:30 p.m.
