The Tippecanoe Red Devils entered their tilt with the Troy Trojans with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Tippecanoe came out on top against Troy by a score of 47-34 on Friday. For Tippecanoe, this counts as revenge for the 46-39 loss Troy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Tippecanoe was led to victory by Jackson Smith and CJ Bailey. Smith dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Bailey scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Bailey has scored at least 25% of Tippecanoe's points. Another player making a difference was Caden Turner, who scored 5 points along with 3 steals.
Tippecanoe's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Troy, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-5 record last season and are now at 1-2.
Tippecanoe will be playing in front of their home fans against Xenia at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Troy, they will head out on the road to face off against Greenville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Greenville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Saturday.
